The purpose of this project was to raise money to assist in the furnishing/decorating of two local safe-houses, one for abused children and one for abused women.
Our club teamed up with the local amusement park, to provide a venue and other entertainment, as well as with five area Rotary clubs, to assist us in the selling of “booth’s” for children entertainment. Originally planned to take place in May, it was rained out and rescheduled for late September.
Our club arranged to have 14 tables with such activities as “Paint your Face”, “Books for Reading”, “Meet a Guide Dog for the Blind”, “Execise your Body”, “Paint your Country’s Flag”, etc. All money raised came from selling space or donations from businesses and Rotary Clubs (donations for not participating in the physical activities).
