BETSY MANZELLI

DISTRICT GOVERNOR - 2020-2021
DISTRICT 7930

Betsy has always been actively involved in the local community and joined Rotary nearly 12 years ago, after her eldest daughter participated in the Rotary Youth Exchange Program. She has been an integral and dedicated member of the Hamilton Wenham Rotary club, serving as President 2012-2013 and as a board member from 2010 through 2019. Betsy has also been instrumental in integrating young people with Rotary initiatives within the community. She continues to serve as the club’s Youth Exchange Chair and Interact Advisor. In 2012, Betsy was named a Paul Harris Fellow as a recognition for her exceptional dedication to service and for her contributions to Rotary.

Since joining Rotary, Betsy has proven her commitment to the Youth Exchange Program, she has continually served her local Club as Youth Exchange Officer since 2008. In 2011, she became the District’s Youth Exchange Chair and served in that capacity for eight years. Betsy has been actively involved with Eastern States Student Exchange (ESSEX) since 2010 and served on the Executive Committee from 2017-2019. In addition to her official involvement as the Youth Exchange Chair, Betsy and her family have hosted 16 students from around the world.

For the past nine years, Betsy has participated in District 7930’s Polar Plunge Event, braving the frigid waters of the Atlantic. She encourages the students from both Interact and Youth Exchange Students who participate in the plunge to bring awareness to Rotary’s effort to eradicate Polio.

Outside of Rotary, Betsy works as an Office Manager and Paralegal Assistant for Richmond & Associates in Danvers, Massachusetts. Betsy lives in Hamilton with her husband Michael of 31 years. They are proud parents of two daughters, Brianna who works for the FAA in Washington D.C. and Allison, who is a nurse at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
