Eric joined the Rotary Club of Middlebury Vermont in 1988. He has maintained perfect attendance for 29 years since joining Rotary. He has held most offices with in his club, and now serves on the Club’s Board of Directors, and the Club Foundation Chair. In 2012 the club honored Eric with the Richard C. Hubbard award for outstanding Rotary service. Eric served as club President 2009-2010. He was most recently instrumental in helping his club be recognized through the district, with membership achievements, unique service projects and being a well-balanced and vibrant Rotary club.


Eric has served at the district level as Assistant Governor for a three-year term, has served and is serving on the Executive Council for the past five years. He served his district as District Conference Chair in 2014-2015. He currently is Chair of the District Finance Committee.


Eric is a Paul Harris Fellow plus four and a member of the Paul Harris Society.


Eric resides in Bridport, Vermont with his wife Janice. Eric, outside of his Rotary service, assists the Middlebury Union High School football team. Through his support over the years Eric was honored with receiving the Seeley Reynolds award for years of dedicated service. Eric has also served as trustee at his church.


Eric and Janice own and operate Countryside Carpet and Paint a full-service decorating store. Eric opened his store in 1988 and has grown the business into one of the premier businesses of its kind. The community, through the Chamber of Commerce, recognized Eric for his community service with the “Buster Brush” Citizen of the Year award! Truly an honor as Buster Brush was a long time Rotarian and a mentor of Eric’s.

Eric has two sons Christopher and Douglas. One step daughter Emmy. They are all grown and making their mark on the world.
 
When Eric isn’t serving his community, he enjoys, gardening, home renovations, hiking and travel.
