General Sessions

All sessions will be held at the Newton Marriott Hotel, Newton, Massachusetts.

Your Personalized Schedule will be provided to you in the in-conference app for your smartphone.  It will include all general sessions and breakout sessions that are specific to your registration, and any of the elective Bonus Sessions you have chosen to attend on Thursday.

You will receive an invitation to access the app when your registration has been received.  Download and install the Whova Event & Conference app.  Choose the Rotary Northeast Presidents-Elect Training Seminar and log in using the email address used in your registration.  Click "forgot my password" in order to set up a new password for your account.  This app will pull up your personalized schedule for both days, along with speaker bios, maps of the facility, and the ability to network with other participants.  There are also bits of fun and prizes to be won - a Photo Contest, Community interactive conversation boards, and lots more!

Breakouts:

Breakout sessions are topic specific and will be led by discussion leaders. They will typically relate to the prior general session. During those breakout sessions, participants will work with their peers from the seven districts. This enables you to benefit from the experiences of others with similar challenges and successes.  There will be separate breakout sessions for Assistant Governors and Presidents-elect.  Please report to the specific breakout room assigned to you.

Making the most of your PETS:

You can find the full schedule in the Whova app. See My Agenda for your individual room assignments.

Make the most of your time at PETS! You will never have a better opportunity to:
  • Learn more about Rotary
  • Compare ideas
  • Network with other club Presidents-elect
  • Virtually meet future, present, and past leaders of Rotary International
Discussion Leaders are the backbone of PETS. They are great resources, willing and eager to share ideas. Be assertive in contacting them after your session or after PETS to ask for their suggestions or benefit from their experience. Be sure to thank them for volunteering their time at PETS. This event and its entire staff have but one goal – to help you make the most of your year as president and to improve and strengthen your Rotary Club!

Contact your District Governor Elect and District Governor Nominee:

Your DGE and DGN are always available to support you and your club.  Feel free to contact her or him at any time, during PETS, after PETS or any time throughout the year when you need information, help and support.
