Rick Bassett's Personal Page


Rick Bassett joined the North Haven Rotary Club in 1990. He has served in numerous club roles since joining Rotary including being President in 2005 – 2006 and 2015 - 2016. Rick has been named Rotarian of the year twice and is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow. He has served District 7980 as Webmaster, Event Registrar, Assistant Governor, District Governor (2013-14), Vice Governor and District Trainer. His current Rotary service includes: District Nominating Committee Chair, District Finance Committee Chair, Vice Governor, District Trainer and NE PETS Registrar.

Rick earned his Doctorate in Computer Information Systems from Pace University in 2003, his Masters in Computer Information Systems and his Bachelors in Computer Science from The University of New Haven. He is a tenured Associate Professor of Information Systems and Chair of the Management department at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, CT and was formerly the Assistant Dean of the Business School at Western Connecticut State University.
Besides being a full-time Professor, Rick has extensive business experience, which includes running an active technology consulting practice and a real estate investment company that specializes in rehabbing and renting houses.

Rick’s roots are deep in Connecticut as his ancestors came over on the ‘True Love’ and settled in North Haven (formerly known as New Haven) in 1642/43.

Rick currently resides in North Haven with his wife Jennifer and their Bassett hound, Mac. His older two daughters; Katie and Julie have graduated from Western CT State University and Quinnipiac University respectively and their son, Adam, recently graduated from Purdue University with a degree in mechanical engineering.

Rick & Jennifer recently welcomed their 1st grandchild, Elliot, on November 30, 2016.
